“Hi John,
I have been down in Chicago since the Summer, working for METROsquash. Recently I was able to get on the doubles court, and it has me regretting my reluctance to play the sport earlier. Working with students and spending so much time on court has demonstrated to me how much squash influenced my growth as a youngster, and eventually adult. The sport has given me so much, I wanted to write and thank you for encouraging me along the way: hitting on court, finding me matches and giving pointers or identifying things to work on. The Commodore was and is a great place to learn the game. That being said, please keep in touch regarding dates for the Indian Summer for 2011; we’d love to bring a METROsquash contingent up to play some Minnesota Squash!
Thanks,
Ed (Gadient)”
“John,
Thank you for writing a letter of recommendation for my bar application. The Club has been a safe haven for me these past three years, as I have trudged through law school. My experiences at the Commodore would not have been possible without everything you do. I do not think everyone recognizes your contributions. I do. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to play squash at such a wonderful place.
Thank You,
Robert Trousdale”
“I’ve been a member of the Commodore Squash Club since 1999, playing an average of twice a week and doing weights and cardio work once a week. The only thing that I have ever regretted about my membership is not being able to play more often. Because I work fulltime and am the main child care provider, I often have difficulty arranging matches for a set time. So I count on playing the Tuesday and Friday night round robins, at which players of different abilities rotate every two games. As an older player of modest abilities, I am particularly grateful that better players usually slow down their game both to enable me to compete with them and to learn from them. I greatly appreciate JT’s advice in the weight room to help me rehabilitate from a pulled muscle that has kept me off the court. The only thing worse than not playing is reinjuring after you’ve come back too soon to the court. My goal is to play until I am at least 75! By that time, the kids who have been watching TV and doing homework in the Commodore lounge while their parents play will have taken up the game and have their own kids waiting for them to finish playing.”
Best,
Steve Suppan

“As an out of town member I appreciate how easy it is to get a game at the Commodore club when I am in St Paul. I also think the courts are great… better than some of the courts I play on in Philadelphia.”

“The squash club has been a home away from home for me for 30 years. I love it there! I would recommend Squash to anyone and the Commodore is THE place to play in the Twin Cities.”
